Elderly project reflections

Elderly project reflections

  • 05 Jan, 2017

Meet Dennis; one of the people who was at our elderly festive party the other day. During the party he got talking to us about his love for playing pool. Once the party was over Dennis asked if we could stay back and play with him and so that’s exactly what we did. We wish we could find the words to tell you what this simple gesture meant to him; he was literally grinning from ear to ear and was just so chuffed that he had someone to play with. He genuinely was one of the loveliest people we've met!!

We know we are always asking for money but this time we're asking for something even more valuable; we're asking you for your time. If you think you could spare an hour a week and become a volunteer befriender for people like Dennis then please get in touch. We can't even begin to tell you the impact this could have on a lonely elderly person! Charity really does begin at home and sometimes charity isn't about giving money.
